Cisco says innovation in Webex over the past year is not only helping the world’s leading enterprises to safely keep employees productive and engaged, but its new features are further accelerating that to deliver flexible work styles, catering to different collaboration needs, devices and meeting platforms, reinforcing the need for flexibility, interoperability and inclusiveness.

At the heart of the new offering is the concept of reimagined workspaces, which means hybrid working requires organizations to transform workspaces to provide a cohesive experience, whether in the office, at home or on the go. shift. Cisco announced what it calls an industry-first partnership with Ford to extend Webex Meetings to vehicles, serving as a mobile office.

To improve the desktop experience, Webex has extended the desktop app’s built-in apps to include Webex Desk and Webex Board Series devices, as well as phones and tablets, eliminating the need to switch between different apps and maximizing the collaboration, the company said.

He said users can easily start and use apps like Miro, Mural, Shared Timer and Slido on their Webex device and share a whiteboard with meeting participants, for example. Webex devices support interoperability with collaboration services from Zoom, Microsoft and Google, providing what Cisco calls “frictionless communication” regardless of device or platform.

New capabilities in the company The Vidcast asynchronous video messaging system is designed to boost the engagement and productivity of remote workers. With Vidcast, users can import a recorded demo into Webex, edit it, and share it as a Vidcast for asynchronous consumption. The technology can also be integrated into a Slido poll for recordings or virtual trainings, as well as Webex Events.

The new solutions are also expected to deliver “outstanding” hybrid events, meeting attendees’ demands for flexibility to connect in-person and/or online with a seamless event experience. To help event planners manage health protocols simply and efficiently, Webex Events partners with Clear to provide proof of vaccine or test results tied to an attendee’s verified identity.

The technology also aims to increase accessibility and inclusivity by adding real-time subtitles and translation, supporting transcription from English to 34 languages, with more to come. Webex Events compliance standards (SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and SOC 3) and integration into Webex Control Hub have been developed to provide better visible administration and simplified management for enterprise hybrid work and event environments.

Noting that businesses need the ability to stay connected and provide proactive connections with customers across their preferred communication channels, the company said the updated enterprise communications platform as a service ( CPaaS) Webex Connect enables businesses to intelligently orchestrate end-to-end connections. and deliver seamless personalized experiences across all digital channels. Webex Connect is now also integrated with Webex Contact Center to power new channels including WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and SMS.

In webex Embedded Apps Framework, customers can access more apps, including InVision for the visual whiteboard. New Webex integrations with Notion’s all-in-one project management, notes and wiki solution streamline client workflows, and Standout by ADP, an employee engagement system, creates team.

Cisco has also confirmed that Webex Go will will be generally available on March 31, allowing users to add Webex Calling functionality as a dedicated business line to a personal cell phone for high-quality business calls and expanded collaboration features.

The company also revealed that Webex Calling has now reached a record six million users, growing from four million in six months, as organizations adopt leading enterprise cloud calling to scale their businesses globally.
