The Forster Tuncurry Jockey Club was established in 1980. In 1985 the club was granted suitable land which could be converted into a racecourse. The club held its first race meeting in March 2009.

The track and its surrounding facilities have been made possible through the combined efforts of different members of the community to promote horse racing in Tuncurry.

Horse racing enthusiasts will be pleased to know that several exciting events are planned at the Tuncurry-Forster Jockey Club over the next two months and into early 2023. The festive season is approaching and the Forster Tuncurry Jockey Club will host its annual Horse Racing Christmas in mid-December.

1. Gold Cup Race Day

Entrance gate: members pay $5 and general admission is $10

2. Race Day Christmas Party

A week before Christmas Day, the club will hold its annual race day party as the festive season approaches. Bring the whole family for a fun day at the races. 3. Seafood Race Day

Every year people travel from far and wide to attend the Tuncurry-Forster Jockey Club Seafood Race Day. The annual meeting is well attended by its regular customers. The club is looking for new members to join.

When: Saturday, January 14, 2023

The event should be a seafood sensation. Come and have a fun day at the races. Head to the races and enjoy delicious seafood while watching all the racing action.

4. Men’s League Race Day

The Men of League Race Day organized by the Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club will take place on Saturday February 25, 2023, at the racecourse.

5. Ladies Race Day

The Ladies Race Day event will feature several exciting events throughout the day. Women are encouraged to put on their finest yarns and spend a day at the races.

One-time prizes are also up for grabs for a lucky few. There will also be free transport to and from the site.
