Water is one of the most important inputs for agricultural production and plays a very important role in achieving food security. FMC, an agricultural science company understands its importance and therefore, FMC and Krishi Jagran are hosting a webinar on World Water Day on March 22, 2022 on the topic “Sustainable use of water in agriculture”, From 3:00 p.m. it will be broadcast live on Krishi Jagran Official Facebook Page.












This webinar will be attended and addressed by notable industry experts including Raju Kapoor, Director (General Affairs), FMC India. He has 34 years of rich experience in the agriculture and chemical industry in various verticals and functions covering crop protection, fertilizers, PGR, seeds, animal nutrition and health products. A graduate of GB Pant University in Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Raju holds an MBA in Marketing.

He actively contributes to the sustainability of food systems and agriculture and is a leading speaker on these issues. He has been actively involved in the areas of public policy, communications, marketing, supply chain management and general business management during his career.

  • Assess seasonal water availability – surface and groundwater – at village level

  • Assess current and projected water demand for domestic, agricultural, livestock and subsistence purposes

  • Match current water availability to demand

  • Choose crops and cropping patterns based on net water availability while keeping in mind household food security and market (income) needs

  • Introduce water-saving technologies such as drip irrigation, sprinklers and mulching, and encourage greater water harvesting

  • Moving from a supply-driven approach to a demand-driven approach
