Only Japan Project Zero 4 is rumored to actually have a western release

A reliable leaker seems to suggest that the only Project Zero game that never left Japan will see a Western re-release.

Last year, Koei Tecmo released a Nintendo Wii U-exclusive Project Zero: Maiden Of Black Water remaster for modern platforms.

We don’t yet know who said that, but it must have been good enough for Koei Tecmo to make another re-release of the Project Zero game.

It’s certainly more useful thanks to Project Zero-Tamp Of The Lunar Eclipse, a Sony Wii exclusive that’s never been released outside of Japan.

What makes it interesting is that Grasshopper Manufacture was a co-developer alongside Tecmo and Nintendo, and the creator of No More Heroes is Suda51 as writer and director.

The rumor itself comes courtesy of insider, The Snitch, who has become an accurate source of video game leaks, despite his leaks consisting of vague and obscure teases.

In this case, they posted a chain of emojis with the representations of two masks, the sun followed by the Earth then the moon, and a ghost to their discord.

It was shared with Reddit at the time and is now presumably the reference to the Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse game titles and the series being based on ghosts.

Since Nintendo was the publisher of the games and this rumor comes just before a Nintendo Direct, it’s assumed that the re-release/remaster will be one of its announcements.

There were also two-year-olds in the United States and one-year-olds in the first version of the game, the sample that went from the first to the second floor of a game.

While not a Nintendo Switch exclusive, it could see a release on PlayStation and Xbox platforms. Just like the baby.

For those unfamiliar with the series, Project Zero is also known as Fatal Frame in Japan and the United States.

The anime draws heavy influence from 1990s Japanese horror like The Ring and lets you take a magical camera to exorcise ghosts.
