How to Best Get Highland Lotus
Getting Highland Lotus is not an easy task. Not only is the resource very hard to find in the Silverlight Hills region – the only region the plant spawns in – but all potential farming sites are heavily guarded by high-level Harpies who inflict powerful melee and magic attacks.
Luckily, if you’re looking to avoid combat situations, Highland Lotus Seeds can be purchased for a hefty penny, so you can start collecting and stacking your silver coins.
Now, there is another method to get Highland Lotus Seeds, however, it’s not very reliable, but it’s a powerful enough method to build up stacks of all kinds of different resources. This method basically involves roaming the streets and docks of Brighthaven in Silverlight Hills and smashing every barrel and crate you come across.
If you’re lucky, you’ll receive items such as Highland Lotus Seeds, Iron Ingots, Whetstones, Imperial Wire, Blueprints, and even high-end Knowledge Books that can be used to unlock new technologies.
How to Buy and Plant Highland Lotus Seeds
To purchase Highland Lotus Seeds, you will need to visit Ottar the Merchant, who can be found in the Brighthaven Slums in the Silverlight Hills area. Unfortunately, buying these end-game seeds won’t be cheap, as they’ll cost you 200 silver each. While there’s no limit to how many you can buy, saving up enough Silver to buy several can be tricky.
To set up your resource farm, all you need is some plant seeds, a garden in your castle, and that’s it.
Once you’re ready to plant, place the seed on your action bar, then plant it by pressing the key assigned to that particular slot. Now seeds can be placed on both regular dirt/grass and garden soil. Garden Floors will not unlock automatically, as you will need to defeat level 34 V Blood, Polora the Feywalker to unlock the recipe.
After planting the seed, you will need to wait a few days in-game for the plants to fully grow and flower before they can be harvested.
How to Grow Highland Lotus
The best way to farm Highland Lotus is to explore the two Harpy Nests located in the northern and southern areas of the Silverlight Hills region. As the name suggests, these areas will be teeming with Harpies, including the level 60+ Harpy Dasher, Harpy Sorceress, and Harpy Scratcher.
Considering these areas are pretty late game and the high level enemies you’ll encounter, it’s highly recommended to wear nothing less than Merciless Hollowfang Vestment. With decent armor you will also have require ruthless or superior iron weaponsas you’ll want to make sure you’re doing enough DPS against the Harpies that occupy the areas you’ll be visiting.
Finally, you’ll also want to bring plenty of Vermin salvo and rats to make sure you can heal properly and stay alive.
Northern Harpy’s Nest – Highland Lotus Map
While exploring the Northern Harpy’s Nest, you’ll come across more than eight highland lotus plants that can be harvested. In our travels around the area, we’ve found it to be slightly safer than the southern nest because it’s more spaced out and there’s less chance of you accidentally drawing aggro from Harpies in nearby areas.
Southern Harpy’s Nest – Highland Lotus Map
The southern harpy nest is about the same as the northern nest; however, we only found seven Highland Lotus spawns in the area. It’s also worth noting that if you’re not careful, you might accidentally run into the powerful V Blood, Morian the Stormwing Matriarch, who resides atop the nest.
