Hardcover Elden Ring Books of Knowledge Pre-Orders Now Open

Volume II has an exclusive interview with Miyazaki

Ring of Elden is getting a pair of official physical guides later this year from Future Press, and by the time you get your hands on them, you might have forgotten enough of them to need them again. Joke! Type of. I feel like this has to be the most wiki game of 2022, right?

Future Press plans to publish its “biggest project to date”—two bound volumes known as Elden Ring Books of Knowledge – and they will cost $49.99 each. Volume I will be available this summer and Volume II will arrive in the fall.

In terms of content breakdown, these are meant to be the comprehensive and definitive resource books for all things Ring of Eldenso lots of statistics, pictures and ideas.

Content of each guide

For Volume I, that means “in-depth explanations and data for all game elements and mechanics”, “ultra-detailed mapping” for the world map and dungeons, and an NPC guide “with every branch and possibility fully explained”. For Volume II, Future Press focuses on the fight for every Ring of Elden playstyle, creatures, weapons, spells, and armor, plus an “exclusive interview” with director Hidetaka Miyazaki.

The Elden Ring Books of Knowledge are up for pre-order on Amazon here and here.

A word of warning from Future Press: “Due to ongoing global manufacturing and logistics difficulties, we encourage everyone to pre-order their copy early to avoid disappointment later.” Officially, the release dates are “late summer” and “fall,” but Amazon points to July 29 for the first book and September 30 for the second.

It’s fun to obsess over every little detail in the game – it’s true for the souls series as a whole, and that’s certainly true of Ring of Elden — so even if these guides arrive “late,” they’ll still have a devoted following, especially if they turn out as good as they sound. I will say that the cover art, featuring Ranni and Queen Marika, looks pretty slick.

There’s something special about getting into a beefy book about a game you really resonated with, so hopefully this two-parter lives up to expectations.
