ICAR-IARI, in its latest notification, invited eligible candidates for the walk-in interview and career opportunities in the fields of chemistry, plant biotechnology, genetics and biotechnology. Interested and qualified applicants should review the information provided below.








Applications are invited for various positions.





On July 20, 2022, Walk-in Interview for various positions in externally supported projects will be held at Division of Plant Physiology, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi-12. Positions are contractual only. Applicants must submit a person with biographical data in the enclosed form and a self-attested scanned copy of the original documents.












1. Job name

a) Associate researcher -I

b) JRF/Project Associate I

name of the project – Site-directed mutagenesis of the low affinity nitrate transporter gene to improve nitrogen efficiency in aerobic rice.

Age limit– 40 years for RA, 35 years for JRF/PA-I.

Fees

  • RA-I: Rs. 47,000 + 24% HRA pm

  • FRJ: Rs. 31,000/- plus 24% HRA pm or

  • Project Associate-I: 25,000 + 24% HRA pm

Essential Qualifications-

  • For RA-I – PhD in plant biotechnology/molecular biology and biotechnology/life sciences (plant sciences) from a recognized university.

  • For JRF/PA-I – 1st class M.Sc. in subjects as mentioned above for RA.

  • Desirable for RA-I – Hands-on experience with basic molecular techniques such as cloning, transformation, tissue culture, mutations by any molecular approach, knowledge of R, data analysis and interpretation, and report writing. Research publications in the journal SCI (first/corresponding author).












2. Job name–Researcher

name of the project – Impact of fertilization on the nutritional quality of grains for human health: Fertilizer Research & Responsible Implementation

Age limit– 35 years.

Fees – Rs. 30,000/- (Consolidated)

Education Qualification-

  • Essential– 1st class Masters degree in Biotechnology/Agriculture with major in Crop or Plant Physiology/Biochemistry from a government recognized university.

  • Desirable– Nutrient analysis, HPLC operation, statistical analysis, data interpretation, report writing, MS Office expertise.

3. Job name– JRF/Project Associate I.

name of the project – Characterization of genetic material and discovery of traits in wheat using genomic approaches and its integration to improve climate resilience, productivity and nutritional quality.

Fees

  • Rs. 31,000/- plus 24% HRA pm for 1 and 2 years

  • SRF/Project Associate-II in Years 3, 4 and 5 with Rs. 35,000 plus 24% HRA PM

  • Rs. 25,000/- plus 24% HRA pm for others without the above qualification.












Education Qualification-

  • Essential– Master 1st promotion in Agronomic Sciences/Plant Physiology/Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Genetics & Plant Breeding/Life Sciences (Plant Sciences)/ Botany (Specialization Physiology). OR Advanced degree in relevant professional courses.

  • Desirable– Experience working with field crops, field layout design, statistical analyses, data interpretation, report writing, tissue nutrient analysis, etc. Expertise in MS Office.

4. Job name–Junior researcher

name of the project – Investigation of the physiological and molecular bases of ammonia volatilization losses from the rice canopy and its relationship to nitrogen use efficiency under changing climatic conditions.

Fees – Rs. 31,000/- plus 24% HRA PM












Education Qualification-

  • Essential– Master 1st promotion in Plant or Cultural Physiology, Botany (plant physiology), Biotechnology, Life Sciences (plant science). NET/GATE qualified or any national level examination conducted by central government department.

  • Desirable– Experience working with field crops, field layout design, statistical analyses, data interpretation, report writing and basic molecular techniques. Proficiency in MS Office.
